Hate crime is on the rise, and the swastika regularly appears as a weapon of right wing hatemongers and white nationalists. But in Asia, billions of people view the swastika very differently, as a symbol of peace. Can its original meaning be restored?
This Saturday, April 13th in New York at Gallery AWA, Rev. Dr. T.K. Nakagaki joins a panel to discuss the Buddhist Swastika, the history, symbolism and responses. Rev. Nakagaki will be speaking about his past experiences as well as pulling from his new book The Buddhist Swatika and Hitler's Cross: Rescuing a Symbol of Peace from the Forces of Hate.
